First, a disclaimer. Snuff isn’t exactly a kink of mine. I wasn’t interested in it at all until I discovered dolcett, about which I will write later. I’m not into pain or gore, either. I can get into a good snuff fantasy now, but it needs to be combined with something else, like rape, misogyny, or dolcett.
I suppose I need to point out for anyone reading that snuff is only a fantasy for me. I have never killed anyone, and I never intend to.
For me, snuff is about control or domination of women. The act itself isn’t as important as the woman’s reaction to it. Fear, begging and bargaining, anger, hate, crying, and resignation are all arousing for me. If the act is drawn out and painful, her pain won’t do anything for me directly, but I will savor the way her fear and panic is escalated and intensified by her pain.
In addition to fear of death, there is pleasure to be derived from lording over the position of power. It is ultimately unfair that one person can take the life of another, and rubbing the victim’s nose in that unfairness does something for me.
Exploring a wide variety of methods is also important. It’s not just for the variety, which is interesting intellectually. It is linked to fear and reaction. Presumably, victims have different feelings about different methods of execution. The more bizarre, gory, or painful, the more the victim will fear it. The victim will have to imagine it. The victim’s tormentor can guide her through this visualization.
My favorite methods of execution are the guillotine, hanging, and the spit pole (which I will explain when I get to dolcett). I have found that female fantasy partners tend to enjoy asphyxiation, strangulation and choking, and drowning, and a favorite form of asphyxiation is choking on a cock.
Of course, it doesn’t always need to be males executing females. The opposite can tie nicely into femdom for those who enjoy it.
Though the enjoyment of snuff comes from the emotion leading up to the act, a story or video that does not include the act is highly disappointing. If you contemplate making snuff content, you’re going to have to figure out how to portray the death. In most cases, some kind of special effect will be needed. In some cases (such as asphyxiation), the death can be simply a matter of acting, but attention to safety is still important.
Safety examples: Asphyxiation by cock, there needs to be some pre-arranged method by which the performer can escape the cock and catch her breath (it obviously can’t be a safeword). Asphyxiation by placing a bag over the victim’s head can include a safeword, and the performer should be free to use her hands to escape (using fake bondage), but even then a bag is dangerous, and some method to keep her supplied with oxygen at all times is needed.
I don’t know how many performers will be reading this, but seriously, don’t be coerced into doing stunts until you are fully confident that it is safe. I recommend not just one safety measure, but a backup plan or two as well. Don’t be afraid to say no. (For more on that, read up on the injury that Uma Thurman suffered on the set of “Kill Bill” after she gave in to Quentin Tarantino’s bullshit assurances of safety.)
